Pregnancy

The Hospital for Sick Children closed the Motherisk helpline on April 16, 2019.

The Motherisk Clinic remains open as a specialized referral-only service that assesses the safety of medications and/or substances consumed by pregnant or nursing women and the potential effects on their babies. Please speak to your family physician if you would like to access this service.

There is a similar service called MotherToBaby in the U.S. that can be reached toll-free at 866-626-6847. SickKids has informed the leadership of the MotherToBaby program about the closure of the Helplines and the service is available to take calls from Canadians.
